Women’s Swimming Defeats John Jay College

Lady Cardinals Get First Conference Win

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's swim team picked up its third win of the season and first in conference play with a 91-78 victory over John Jay college on Monday evening.

 

For York, it was Averie Mohammed who once again came up big, winning the 100-free and the 200-individual medley.  Mohammed, along with Maria Amate-Mathieu, Ayanna Bennett and Dawn Davis also won the 200-medley relay.   In addition, Bennett took first in the 50-free.

 

With the win, York improves to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.  The Cardinals will be idle until the CUNYAC championships on February 5.
