JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College head men's basketball coach Clarence Emengo has secured the signing of incoming recruit Edgardo Sanchez Jr. for the 2026-27 campaign. 

Sanchez Jr. comes to York after four varsity seasons at Transit Tech and one year at SUNY Adirondack. In 26 contests with the Timberwolves during the 2024-25 campaign, he displayed an all-around game, averaging 7.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. The Brooklyn native was also an efficient offensive player, shooting 47.5% from the field and a stout 77.1% from the charity stripe.

"I chose to enroll at York because it has a great balance of academics and athletics, allowing me to pursue my goals both in the classroom and on the court" - Edgardo Sanchez Jr.

On the court, Sanchez Jr. will bolster the guard room with his shot-making, passing, and defense. Academically, he is expected to study physical education.
