JAMAICA, NY --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College head men's soccer coach
Ovid Cusu announced Wednesday the commitment of Lesli Cajamarca ahead of the 2026 campaign. Cajamarca brings a high pedigree to York, playing four varsity seasons at High School for Health Professions and Human Services, including captaining the Lady Vipers. She is also the younger sister of Cardinal great
Emelin Cajamarca.
"I chose York College because it gives me the opportunity to grow both academically and athletically. Being a Cardinal means working hard, staying dedicated, and representing my community with pride." - Lesli Cajamarca
On the pitch, Cajamarca will be a blazing forward with the ability to play as a striker and a winger. Academically, she will enter the school's nursing program.
"[Lesli] is a hardworking and dedicated player who brings strong leadership, effort, and a competitive mindset to the team." - Head Coach Ovid Cusu
Cajamarca is the first of York's recruiting class to be announced. In the coming weeks, we will learn more about the program's Cardinal commitments for the new season.
