BRONX --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's swimming medaled in one event, scored points in three events, and recorded six personal-best performances to close out the third day of competition at the 2026 CUNYAC Championships hosted by Lehman College inside The APEX. Across the three-day meet, the Cardinal men placed third overall with 51 points, highlighted by two podium finishes and 11 career-best swims, while the women added two personal-best efforts.
Wrapping up the squad's 51-point total, the quartet of
Wood-by Paulemont,
Lukas Rivera,
Brandon Smith, and
Tyrone Morris earned 10 points with a third-place finish in the men's 400-yard freestyle relay (7:06.58). The relay smashed its previous best by 1:26.89 to secure the podium spot.
Individually, Paulemont continued his standout championships, scoring two points with a career-best swim in the 200-yard backstroke (3:25.61, 7th), improving his previous mark by 11.32 seconds. Paulemont has his hand in a combined 48 points across six events during the meet.
Darien Davis added two individual points to York's ledger with a seventh-place showing in the 200-yard breaststroke (4:37.84).
Rivera paced the Cardinals in the 100-yard freestyle with a career-best time of 1:44.87 (10th), cutting 3.41 seconds off his seed time. York placed 10th through 12th in the event, as Morris improved by 4.34 seconds to finish in 1:59.52, while Smith rallied with a 10.60-second improvement to touch in 2:01.35.
For the women,
Elizabeth Astudillo produced a career-high time of 1:24.37 in the 100-yard freestyle, trimming 2.98 seconds off her previous mark.
