FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College's Stephanie Gonzalez was recognized Monday as the CUNYAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for matches played Sept. 8-14. This is the freshman's first career CUNYAC weekly laurel, and the program's third under head coach Ovid Cusu. 

Starring for the Cardinals against the Cedar Crest College Falcons (Sept. 13), Gonzalez totaled three shots and scored the team's lone goal. For that goal, Gonzalez dribbled past several Falcon defenders and unleashed an effort from outside the 18-yard box that whizzed past goalkeeper Bella Bozen.

Gonzalez can continue her attacking firepower on Wednesday (Sept. 17) against the Purchase College Panthers (1-2), starting at 7 p.m. from Purchase College Field.
