NEW YORKÂ -- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College made a statement at the 2025 CUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, showcasing impressive performances that resulted in four podium finishes and seven personal records at Icahn Stadium. The men's team wrapped up the meet with a fifth-place finish, accumulating 26 points, while the women's squad matched the placement and tallied six points.  Medgar Evers College claimed the men's title with 273 points, while Hunter College scored 227 to secure the women's championship.
The Cardinal men were the standout performers of the meet, claiming all four of York's medals and achieving four personal bests. Meanwhile, the women's team registered three new personal records, rounding out a day marked by notable individual efforts.

As Saturday's action came to a close, York took a moment to honor its graduating athletes. Seniors

Men's Performance Breakdown
- Chris Merilan delivered a breakout championship performance, claiming a pair of bronze medals for York. He clocked a personal-best 1:05.54 in the 400-meter hurdles and followed it up with a third-place finish in the triple jump, landing a mark of 11.58 meters.
- Michael Zhang showcased his endurance against championship-level competition, grinding out a third-place finish in the 10,000 meters with a time of 41:44.06 to earn six points for York. He followed up with a solid showing in the 5,000 meters, placing seventh in 22:50.03.
- Reyes battled through a tough field to earn six points with a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line in a PR of 12:30.73.
- Shirra Jenkins led the team with a seventh-place finish in the long jump, setting a personal record with a distance of 4.89 meters.
- Ortiz set a personal record in the 400 meters, placing seventh with a time of 58.60. He also competed in the long jump, finishing tenth with a mark of 4.37 meters.
- The relay squad of Merilan, Reyes, Jenkins and Ortiz closed out the meet with a season-best performance in the 4x400-meter, securing fifth place in 4:02.94 and tacking on two more points to the scoreboard.

Women's Performance Breakdown
- Keanna Clouden paced York with a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, earning four points with a personal-best time of 31.18. She also clocked a career-best 14.74 in the 100 meters to finish ninth.Â
- Clouden later joined Bonne-Annee, Rebecca McKenzie, and Alisha Adams in the 4x100 relay, where the quartet clocked a season-best 59.36 to secure fifth place and tack on two more points to York's total.
- Bonne-Annee turned in a strong showing in the throws, earning a personal best of 12.80 meters in the javelin to place ninth, and finishing eighth in the shot put with a mark of 7.45 meters.
- McKenzie sprinted to a personal best of 14.17 in the 100-meter preliminaries, then followed up with a seventh-place finish in the finals at 14.29. She also placed ninth in the long jump, landing a mark of 4.18 meters.
