Katryna Francois was recognized Tuesday as the CUNYAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week following her performances during the Feb. 5-11 reporting period. This is the second career CUNYAC distinction for Francois, as she garnered Track & Field Rookie of the Week in December 2022.
Competing in two meets, the Queens native set a hat-trick of personal records at the Fastrack National Invite (Feb. 9). Competing against Division I, II, and III competition, Francois bested her previous high in the 60-meter dash by .08, as her 8.53 result is good for fourth on the 2024 CUNYAC Indoor Performance List. Improving the 200-meter dash time by .17, a score of 27.78 tops the Indoor Performance List. Running the 400-meter dash at 1:07.19, Francois ranks third in the CUNYAC hierarchy for that category. Racing at the Big Apple Invitational (Feb. 10), Francois produced solid times in the 60-meter (8.61) and 200-meter (27.78) dashes.
