Emelin Cajamarca was named to the five-member 2023 CUNYAC Women's Soccer Preseason Player to Watch list, as announced Wednesday by the league office.
York's top goal scorer with three strikes, Cajamarca returns to the fold for her third season. In addition to her goals, the forward's 10 shots and seven shots on goal were tied for the team-high.
The Cardinals were also picked to finish fifth in the CUNYAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

York received 10 total points, while John Jay College topped the list with 25 points, along with five first-place votes. York's five-match conference slate kicks off against Medgar Evers College on September 22.
The 2023 CUNYAC Championship will take place on October 28 (semifinals) and November 4 (finals), with the league champion receiving an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
Closing out the 2022 season with a 1-3 record, the Cardinals triumphed 4-3 in a home matchup against Lehman College. With the program focused on growth in 2023, second-year head coach Winston Williabus' roster features five returners and eight newcomers.
The Cardinals (0-1) return to the pitch Saturday (Sept. 9) to host the Medgar Evers College Cougars (0-0) at 4 p.m. in a non-conference encounter at Aviator Field.
