NEW YORKÂ --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College competed Saturday at the 2023 CUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field championships with seven medals from Icahn Stadium. The Cardinals placed fourth with 38 points in the men's meet as the women totaled 22 points to place fourth.  In total, York compiled four medals in the men's meet, while the women received three.
On the men's side, the foursome of
Tahkwai Wilson-Hill,
Bryan Ortiz,
Glenver Stuart, and
Marvin Mondesir finished third at 46.67 in the 4x100 meter relay. York has now medaled in the 4x100 in three-straight championships with first-place finishes in 2019 (45.53) and 2022 (45.82). Â
Individually, Stuart showed out in the 400-meter and 800-meter categories. He took home four points with a 54.21 time in the 400-meter and medaled with a second-place finish (2:09.67) in the 800-meter.
Wilson-Hill ran wild by claiming medals in the 100 and 200-meter events, finishing third at 11.87 and 24.10, respectively. Mondesir followed in the 200-meter dash at 24.56 to combine with Wilson-Hill for 10 points.Â
Ahmed Algendy threw a personal record of 9.25 meters in the shot put.
For the Cardinal women,
Zaria Neptune,
Emmaly Merced,
Peta-Gay Hunter, and
Tamicia Sylvester claimed six points with a time of 56:34 to take third place in the 4x100 meter relay. Â
Merced, Neptune,
Elizabeth Bouland, and Hunter produced a third-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay, clocking in at 5:16.57.
Neptune also shined in the 100-meter dash, as her late burst catapulted her to a personal record of 13.70, good for second place. Neptune also obtained two points for York in the 200-meter event, crossing the finish line at 29:36.
Sylvester (30.30) and Hunter (31.79) also turned in solid 200-meter times for York.Â
Merced cooked in the 800-meter run, clocking in with a career-high 2:56.07 time to earn the Cardinals two points.Â

Following the conclusion of Saturday's competition, seniors
Ryan Lahens and
Emmaly Merced were recognized with the annual Senior Day ceremony for their dedication to York Athletics.
