NEW YORK --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College Women's Basketball senior center Mac-Dege Dessources was recognized Monday by the Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) as a 2023 All-Met Division III Third-Team member. Dessources, who was one of six CUNYAC student-athletes to land on an All-Met team, will be recognized on April 27 at the 90th annual MBWA All-Met Haggerty Awards Dinner at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, New York.​

This MBWA distinction finishes off another outstanding season for Dessources. The 2023 All-Met third-team selection was a CUNYAC first-team member, won two CUNYAC Player of the Week honors, earned a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week in February, and was a four-time MBWA Divisions II-III Honorable Mention selection. Among other accomplishments, this is the second consecutive season that Dessources made the All-Met Division III Third-Team.

Team-wise, Dessources' exploits helped the Cardinals advance to the semifinals of the CUNYAC Championships for the second time in three seasons. Across 24 games, the Harlem native averaged 18.1 points, 13.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks while establishing career-highs of 1.1 steals, 51.5 percent (175-of-340) from the field and 65.4 percent (83-of-127) from the charity stripe. 

Dessources paced the league in rebounding, field goal percentage and double-doubles (19), while placing in the top-5 in blocks per game (3rd, 2.3), free-throw percentage (4th), and points per game (5th). 

In the final NCAA Statistical Rankings Summary, the senior ranked among the Division III in double-doubles (8th), rebounds per game (6th), total rebounds (15th, 314), blocks per game (26th), total blocks (T-36th, 56), field-goal percentage (44th), and points per game (55th).

Dessources totaled 1,377 points (15.1 p/game), 1,298 rebounds (14.3 p/game) and 211 blocks (2.3 p/game) in 91-career games played from 2018-23.
