The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) named York College women's outdoor track & field freshman
Taylor Bellmon as the Rookie of the Week for competition from April 18-24.
Huntsville, Alabama native sparked the Cardinals with standout performances in the 200 and 400 meter events at the Rider University Invitational (Apr. 23). In the 400 meter race, Bellmon crossed the finish line 16th in 1:04.82 to rank third on the CUNYAC Performance List. Bellmon then registered the CUNYAC's second-best time by clocking in at 29.60 in the 200-meter dash (35th place). In the 4x400, Bellmon combined with
Destiny Scott,
Jaylene Coye and
Shalanie McIntosh to finish sixth in 5:06.42 to take over the third slot in the CUNYAC standings.
In addition to her performances at the Rider Invitational, Bellmon ranks 11th in the CUNYAC in the 100-meter dash (14.21) and contributed to York's conference-leading 4x100 relay performance 54.40.
