@yorkcardinals’ Dessources named All-Met Women’s Basketball Division III Third-Team

York College women’s basketball junior Mac-Dege Dessources was one of three CUNYAC student-athletes recognized as All-Met Division III selections


NEW YORK --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) Following a standout junior season, York College women's basketball center Mac-Dege Dessources was recognized Monday by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) as a 2022 All-Met Division III Third-Team honoree.  Dessources was one of three CUNYAC student-athletes to land on All-Met teams.

The Harlem native led York to CUNYAC Championship play for the second-straight season, registering a career-high 20.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 50.2 percent from the field.  She posted 12 double-doubles and shot 55.2 percent from the free-throw line in 16 games played at a rate of 33.4 minutes per game.  Dessources, who was named a first-team CUNYAC All-Star, the program's first since Kadisha Wickham in 2009-10, led the conference in points per game, rebounds per game and blocks per game. Dessources ranked among the CUNYAC leaders in field-goal percentage (2nd), free-throw percentage (6th) and minutes per game (13th). 

In the final NCAA Division III Statistical Rankings Summary, Dessources ranked second in rebounds per game and offensive rebounds per game (6.3), 14th in points per game, 21st in defensive rebounds per game (8.1), 27th in blocks per game, 34th in double-doubles, 51st in field-goal percentage and 86th in rebounds.  Dessources scored a program-record 43 points and grabbed a season-high 25 rebounds on February 7 in a 77-59 win at Baruch College on the way to being named the program's first-ever D3hoops.com Team of the Week selection.  She also garnered a pair of MBWA Divisions II-III Honorable Mention weekly citations.
