FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's basketball collected three honors Monday when the CUNYAC named junior Mac-Dege Dessources a first-team All-Star while classmate Ellma Hodzic was placed on the second-team.  Junior Aminata Sagna was tabbed to the seven-member CUNYAC Sportsmanship Team.  Dessources, Hodzic and Sagna led York to CUNYAC Championship play for the second-straight season.  

Dessources, a native of New York, is averaging a career-high 20.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 50.2 percent from the field.  She has 12 double-doubles and sinks 55.2 percent from the free-throw line in 16 games played at a rate of 33.4 minutes per game.  The first-team honor is the program's first since Kadisha Wickham in 2009-10.  As the CUNYAC leader in points per game, rebounds per game and blocks per game, Dessources ranks among the league leaders in field-goal percentage (2nd), free-throw percentage (5th) and minutes per game (13th).  In the latest NCAA Statistical Rankings Summary, Dessources ranks second in rebounds per game and offensive rebounds per game (6.3), 16th in points per game, 21st in defensive rebounds per game (8.1), 34th in blocks per game, 34th in double-doubles, 57th in field-goal percentage and 69th in rebounds.  Dessources scored a program-record 43 points and grabbed a season-high 25 rebounds on February 7 in a 77-59 win at Baruch College on the way to being named the program's first-ever D3hoops.com Team of the Week selection.  Dessources also garnered a pair of MBWA Divisions II-III Honorable Mention citations.  

Hailing from Queens, Hodzic has three double-doubles and is averaging a career-best 14.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in addition to knocking down 76.6 percent from the free-throw line.  In 16 games, Hodzic also produces 3.3 assists and 1.9 steals per contest and shoots 32.8 percent from the floor and 24.6 percent from 3-point range.  She ranks among the CUNYAC leaders in points per game (8th), blocks per game (2nd), rebounds per game (T-9th), assists per game (7th), steals per game (12th) field-goal percentage (22nd), 3-point field goals made per game (3rd, 1.9) and minutes per game (2nd, 38.4).  Hodzic was named a Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Honorable Mention selection for games played January 24-30.   

Sagna, a product of Brooklyn, is York's third sportsmanship selection in as many seasons.  In 17 contests at the forward position, Sagna is averaging career-highs of 9.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.9 points, 1.6 steals, 0.4 blocks and 33.3 percent from 3-point territory.  She also shoots 31.9 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from the free-throw line.
