FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's basketball senior center Mac-Dege Dessources was recognized Monday by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) as the Player of the Week, released by league officials for games played November 21-27.  The reigning Player of the Week is York's first two-time winner in the same season since 2010-11, when Kadisha Wickham twice earned the honors.

Dessources totaled 26 points (12-of-24 FG), 21 rebounds, and seven blocks in York's lone game this past week, an 83-39 victory against the Pratt Institute Cannoneers (Nov. 26). All of these stats were season highs for Dessources. She also recorded her fourth double-double of the season and 45th of her career. In addition, the center edged closer to the 1,100 points/1,100 rebounds club, with career totals of 1,042 points and 1,052 rebounds. Dessources already became the program's first member to score 1,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds after her 23-point effort at the University of Valley Forge (Nov. 19).

Five games into the season, Dessources is averaging 19.8 points, 13.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 1.0 steals while shooting 46.7 percent (42-of-90) from the field and 55.6 percent (15-of-27) from the charity stripe in 27.4 minutes per contest. The Harlem native is tied atop the CUNYAC leaderboard in scoring and ranks highly in rebounds per game (2nd), blocks per game (4th), field goal percentage (5th), and free-throw percentage (10th). In the latest NCAA Division III Statistical Rankings Summary, Dessources ranks 15th in offensive rebounds per game (5.5), 16th in double-doubles, and 21st in rebounds per game. 

Dessources and the Cardinals (3-2) return to home court to face the Pratt Institute Cannoneers (0-8) at 6 p.m in a non-conference encounter inside York College Gymnasium.
