FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College senior forward Taylor Bellmon collected a pair of laurels Friday when the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) handed out its year-end awards.  

As a native of Huntsville, Alabama, Bellmon was named the program's first CUNYAC All-Star since 2015 (Kennisha Wills).  She also garnered the CUNYAC Sportsmanship Award, which gives York ownership of three of the last five appointed by the CUNYAC.        

During a rebuilding year in which the team played short-handed for most of the season, Bellmon competed in five of the team's six games in a modified role, which ultimately impacted her offensive production.  Bellmon scored her first goal of the season (14th career) to net the program's first goal of the season against Lehman College (Oct. 13).  She also put up 25.9 percent of the team's shots, landing 57.1 percent of her attempts on target.

Bellmon and the Cardinals (0-6-0) close out the 2021 season on Tuesday (Nov. 2) when they return to the pitch for a non-conference Senior Day showdown against the Yeshiva University Maccabees (0-11) at 7 p.m. from Aviator Field in Brooklyn.  At present time, spectators are not permitted at Aviator Field.  Visit yorkathletics.com/fans to view the Fall Spectator Policy.
