Baruch Too Strong for York Men’s and Women’s Swimming

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The York College men's and women's swimming team returned to the pool on Monday to take on CUNYAC-foe Baruch College.  The Bearcats proved to be too strong, winning both meets in convincing fashion.
 
The Baruch women's team won 100-58, while the men won 116-60.  Despite the loss, York got another nice performance from John Castillo. He won a competitive 50-meter freestyle with a time of 28.68, besting five other competitors.  He also placed third out of six in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:19.15.
 
For the women, Kerry-Ann Bailey placed third in the 100-meter freestyle and Marissa Buchanan was second in the 400-meter freestyle.
 
The men fall to 1-2 and the women drop to 1-4.  York will visit Brooklyn College on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
