York Women’s Soccer Struggles against Mount Saint Vincent

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - York College looked to redeemed itself this past Thursday evening against the College of Mount Saint Vincent after dropping their first match of the season against the College at Old Westbury. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, they suffered an 8-0 defeat at the hands of the Dolphins.

Mount Saint Vincent dominated for pretty much the entire match. They opened up the scoring in the 11th minute with Taylor McGinn scoring off of a rebound.

Led by two goals from Alicia Forgione, the Dolphins found the back of the net five times in the first half. Kelly Gibison scored 13 minutes into the second half to put Mount Saint Vincent up by six. Carolina Criscuola and Alicia Forgione would score two more goals to put them up by 8.  The Dolphins improve to 2-0 on the young season.

Kiara Libreros had 10 saves for the Cardinals, and Kenisha Wills had the Cardinals only shot of the match.

After losing their second match of the season, the Cardinals  (0-2) will return home Wednesday September 10th to play host to Maritime College. The match is set to kick off at 6:00 p.m.
