Henry Dominates 50-Free but Swim Team Falls to Baruch

JAMAICA, N.Y. – The men's and women's swim team hosted Baruch College Tuesday evening in a dual meet. Despite winning three events, including a great performance by Travis Henry, the men lost 96-64, and the women lost 110-65.
 
Henry put together an impressive performance on the night to lead the men's team, winning the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 26.50. He finished more than four seconds ahead of his closest competitor. Alfred Clark also won an event, beating out two Baruch swimmers in the 800-meter freestyle (11:37.42).

In the final event of the evening, the men's 200-meter relay team gave the Bearcats a run for their money, getting narrowly edged at the wall by only .23 seconds.
 
On the women's side, Marissa Buchanan took first place in the 100-meter backstroke, finishing the race with a time of 1:23:12.
 
The men's team now holds a 0-5 record, 0-1 CUNYAC, while the women's team falls to 0-6, 0-2 in conference play. The Cardinals will be hosting the Brooklyn Bulldogs next on Monday the 24th of November, at 6 p.m.
