BRONX, N.Y. – The York College men's and women's cross country team participated in the City College of New York Invitational this past Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park.
In the women's 6K competition,
Alana Johnson led the Cardinals after finishing in 23rd out of 144 participants with a time of 27:54.9, a personal-best for Johnson.
Diana Cuevas also impressed for the Cardinals as she finished with a time 31:09.8, good enough for 62nd place. Overall, the York women's team finished with 318 team points, good for 14th place behind first-place Pace University's 119 points.
The York College men's team consisted of Roy-Don Wallace and Eric Normil-Mendez. Wallace, who finished with a time of 32:58.6, ended up finishing 56th while Normil-Mendez finished in 99th with a time of 37:01.3. The College of Staten Island won the men's 8K race with a score of 72.
York will return to action on Saturday, October 18th, at the St. Joseph's College-LI Invitational at 12:00 pm.
