FLUSHING, NY -- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's cross country athlete Peta-Gay Hunter was recognized Tuesday by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) as the league announced its year-end awards.

Hailing from Brooklyn, Hunter ran in three meets this campaign, claiming a pair of top-two finishes. In the Medgar Evers Legacy Invitational (Oct. 22), she set a personal record in the 6k event with a time of 44:55.4. 

"Peta-Gay has conducted herself on and off the trail with fairness and respect towards others. She is gracious in her personal victories, as well as the victories of those on her team, but has also been well-mannered in times of defeat. She takes pride in showing up to each race ready to give her best."-said coach Jovie Frederick

This selection is Hunter's third career Sportsmanship recognition, as she collected two awards in indoor and outdoor track & field last year. Program-wise, York produced a member of the Sportsmanship Team for the fifth consecutive season.
