Rutgers-Newark Too Much for York in Women’s Soccer

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The York College women's soccer team was overmatched by Rutgers-Newark University on Saturday afternoon at Floyd Bennett Field, as they fell to the Scarlet Raiders by a score of 9-0.
 
Rutgers-Newark scored early and often, starting with two quick goals in the first four minutes of action.  They added one more in the first half, before pouring it on with six more in the second.  Paige Lazar led the way with three goals, while six other players scored a goal apiece.  Raquel Dacosta had three assists.
 
With the win, Rutgers-Newark improves to 2-1-1, while York drops to 1-2. The Cardinals will return to action Tuesday with a home contest versus St. Joseph's (Long Island) at 6:30 p.m.
