BOX SCORE
YONKERS, N.Y.— York College freshman Daisy Narvaez scored two goals and junior Jessica Cornejo chipped in two assists to lead the Cardinals women's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Sarah Lawrence College on Thursday afternoon.

York got on the board early when Cornejo took a corner kick and found Narvaez, who beat the keeper to make it 1-0 in the sixth minute of action.  The score remained the same until the 35th minute, when Cornejo found Anna Lales, this time on a free kick to give the Cardinals a 2-0 advantage.

In the second half, Sarah Lawrence cut into the York lead when Shannon Sullivan weaved through York defenders and beat the York keeper 1-on-1 in the 51st minute.  But York responded just under two minutes later, when Narvaez added her second tally of the match on a loose ball inside the 18-yard box, making it 3-1.

Sarah Lawrence (0-2) added a goal in the final minute of the match but they could get no closer. With the win, York picks up its first victory of the season and evens its record at 1-1 on the year.

The Cardinals will return to action on Saturday when they host Rutgers-Newark at 12:00 p.m. at Aviator Field in Brooklyn.
