York Women’s Soccer Explodes for 12 Goals in Rout of Medgar Evers

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The York College women's soccer team got a much needed win on Sunday and they did it in dominating fashion, defeating Medgar Evers College, 12-0.
 
Six different players scored goals, led by Estefany Delgado, who scored four in a row during an 11-minute span in the first half.  Anna Lales, Daisy Narvaez and Jessica Cornejo chipped in a pair of goals each and Perla Espinosa finished with a goal and two assists.  Kimberly Gonzalez also added a goal.
 
The Cardinals scored ten first-half goals and had seven in the first 20 minutes of action.  The 12 goals that York scored is a new school record for goals in a match. 
 
 With the win, York improves to 2-10 overall and 1-4 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.  The Cardinals return to action on Saturday with a home match against Berkeley College at 12:00 p.m. That contest will be held at Randall's Island, Field #50.
