BOX SCORE

MAHWAH, N.J.--The York College men's basketball team lost to Ramapo College, the #12 team in NCAA Division III, by a score of 78-52 in a road contest Monday night.

The Roadrunners used a balanced attack to knock off the Cardinals, with three players notching at least 13 points.  Anthony LoRusso led the way for Ramapo with 15 points .  Elgin Brown added 13 points and eight boards and Garret Thiel also finished with 13.

York got another 20+ point effort from senior Tony Vails--his 14th time in 15 games scoring more than 20 points.  He finished with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting.  The rest of the Cardinals were held in check, with no one else scoring more than six points.

The Cardinals were held to just 35 percent shooting on the night, while Ramapo shot an impressive 50 percent from the field.  The Roadrunners also forced 20 turnovers, while committing just ten.

York kept it close for most of the first half but a late push by Ramapo at the end of the half gave them an 11-point cushion at halftime. York could not get within single digits the rest of the way and Ramapo led by as many as 28 points in the second half.

York falls to 7-8 on the season, while Ramapo improves to 14-2.  The Cardinals will visit Medgar Evers College on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
