Brooklyn Scores Two Second-Half Goals to Top Women’s Soccer

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— After 58 minutes of scoreless play, Brooklyn College netted two goals in a five-minute span and went on to defeat the York College women's soccer team by a score of 2-0 in CUNY Athletic Conference action, Thursday afternoon.
Shani Abrahams led the Bulldogs with a goal and an assist on the day, as Brooklyn—who is competing in its first year in women's soccer—picked up its first win in its program history. They now stand at 1-2-1 overall and 1-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.

th minute of the contest, Brooklyn broke through when Abrahams crossed the ball to Eka Beriashvilli, who found the left corner of the net. Then, just five minutes later, Abrahams would get a goal of her own when she scored off a rebound.
York could manage little on offense, as the Cardinals were held to just three shots on the day. Meanwhile, Brooklyn put pressure on the York defense all match long, taking 19 shots. Despite the loss, Cardinals keeper

With the loss, York drops to 1-3-1, 0-2 in the CUNYAC. They will host the College of Staten Island on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Aviator Field in Brooklyn, NY.
