Lales Propels Women’s Soccer to Victory in 2012 Season Finale

Anna Lales scored both goals to lift the Cardinals' women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) in the 2012 season finale on Friday evening.
Lales scored the match's first goal in the eigth minute after a through ball from
Arieal Williams set up Lales with a breakaway. She dribbled wide past the goalkeeper and scored in an open net to give York the early lead.
Things were quiet until the 61
st minute when Lales struck again, this time taking a pass from
Carolina Munoz and shooting the ball in the lower right corner to give the Cardinals an insurance goal.
York keeper,
Kiara Libreros stopped four shots to earn the shutout.
York finishes the 2012 season with a record of 5-10-1. The Cardinals improved by four wins from their inaugural season in 2011.
