Ramapo Scores Early and Often in Win Over Women’s Soccer
BOX SCORE
MAHWAH, N.J.—Ramapo College proved to be too strong for the York College women's soccer team, controlling the contest from start to finish, en route to a 7-0 victory over the Cardinals in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon.
Ramapo's Katie Popowych scored two goals and Kaitlin Griffith added a goal and an assist to lead a dominant Roadrunner attack. Ramapo fired 41 shots on the day, while holding York to just one. They kept York keeper
Kiara Libreros busy, who ended up with 15 saves.
The Roadrunners scored six first-half goals, including a goal in just the second minute of the contest and three in the first 11 to put the game out of reach early.
Ramapo improves to 5-8, while York drops to 4-9-1. York will close out the 2012 season on Saturday with a match at Lehman College at 1:00 p.m.
