Women's Basketball Struggles Against Brooklyn

BOX SCORE
BROOKLYN, N.Y—The York College women's basketball team struggled in a conference contest against Brooklyn College, losing by a score of 78-31.

In what has been recurring theme this year, York played well in the early-going but saw things fall apart late in the game.

The game was tied at 9-9 with 13:38 in the first half after a lay-up by York's Danielle Dunn.  At 7:21 of the first half, York still only trailed by four points.  That's where things started to go downhill for the Cardinals.  The Bulldogs opened up a 14-0 run to go up by 18 points (37-19) with 2:39 to play.  Then in the second half, Brooklyn outscored the Cardinals by 21 points and put the game well out of reach.

The Bulldogs had four players in double-figures, led by Lauren Plagainos with 14 points. Charnelle St. Laurent and Tiffany Thompson each had 12 points.  York was led by Dunn, who finished with nine points.

The Cardinals will have a quick turnaround as they host Rhode Island College at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
