BOX SCORE

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's soccer team, playing in its first-ever season, picked up its first win in school history with a 2-1 triumph over Yeshiva University on Tuesday afternoon.  York's Carolina Munoz scored both goals to lead the Cardinals to the win.

Munoz broke a scoreless tie in the 16th minute when she rifled a low shot past the keeper and into the left corner.  The game stayed a 1-0 York advantage into halftime.  Shortly after the half, Yeshiva got the equalizer when Ariel Freda scored an unassisted goal in the 53rd minute.

It did not take long for York to respond back, as Munoz once again came through just two minutes later when she stole a pass from the keeper and put the ball in the back of the net for the game-winning goal.

York improves to 1-3 with the win, while Yeshiva falls to 0-6-1.  The Cardinals will have a quick turnaround as they visit John Jay College at the Metropolitan Oval in Queens on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
