CSI Blanks Women’s Soccer
BOX SCORE
STATEN ISLAND, NY—The York College women's soccer team was shut out by a score of 4-0 against conference-rival the College of Staten Island in a CUNY Athletic Conference contest Tuesday afternoon.
CSI (10-3, 5-0 CUNYAC) jumped out early, scoring two goals in the first five minutes and never looked back. Demi-Jean Martorano, who victimized York with three goals in a game earlier this season, was once again the culprit, as she took a pass from Lauren Neglia and beat the York keeper for the game's first goal. She would later set up teammate Samantha Wysokowski for the game's second goal. CSI added another goal before halftime following a corner kick, and in the second half, Martorano set up another goal to round out the scoring for the Dolphins, who clinched the CUNYAC regular season title with the victory.
York, 1-9, 0-5 in the CUNYAC, will be idle until next Saturday when they host Berkeley College at 12:00 p.m.
