JAMAICA, NY— The York College men's basketball team has advanced to the 2010 CUNYAC/ Con Edison Basketball Championship! York, the top seed and the regular season champion, will face off against rival Brooklyn College, the #2 seed and the defending CUNYAC Champion, on Saturday, February 27 at 5:00 p.m. at the Nat Holman Gymnasium on the campus of City College.
York (21-6) squeezed by Hunter College, 88-84, in its semi-final match-up, while Brooklyn College (21-6) needed overtime to dispense of Baruch College, 82-77, on Tuesday. The two teams have already met twice this season, with York winning both match-ups by just one point.
Tickets to the event are FREE and can be picked up at the athletics office, located in the Health & Physical Education building. A fan bus will also be provided for fans seeking transportation to the game. There are only 60 spots available on the bus, so fans must sign up for a seat at the athletics office. Tickets and a seat on the bus are FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVE. The bus will leave promptly at 4:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear RED to the event.
