Wright had a tremendous month of January for the Cardinals Indoor Track & Field Team. In their first meet of the year, at the FDU Knights Classic, Wright made a big statement, as his jump of 7.14 meters was the top distance in NCAA Division III at the time (he currently has the second best jump in the country). That distance also qualified him for both the ECAC and NCAA Championships. In the same meet, he also shined in track events, placing second in the 400-meter dash.

At the St. Joseph’s Winter Invitational on Jan. 17, Wright won the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 50.51 and also took first in the long jump with a distance of 6.78 meters.Â

He then capped off his month on January 31, with another impressive performance at the Wesleyan University Invitational. He won the 200-meter dash in 22.85 and was second in the long jump in a distance of 6.43 meters.
