Nadaysia Nivar '24

Nadaysia Nivar '24 enters her first season as assistant women's volleyball coach at York College.  

As a four-year starter (2019, 2021-23) for the Cardinals, Spending four inspirational years with the Cardinals (2019, 21-23) Nivar 
appeared in 181 sets across 61 matches before graduating in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. After three solid years, the Bronx native exploded statistically as a middle hitter in her senior campaign, setting a career-high with 72 points, 44 kills, 240 total attacks, 20 service aces and 80 digs. Nivar ranked among the team leaders in 2024 in aces (1st), points (2nd), kills (2nd), total attacks (2nd) and digs (3rd).  Contributing a pair of double-digit efforts in points during the 2023 season, Nivar had a career-high nine kills, 39 attack attempts and 22 digs in a home battle against Medgar Evers College (Oct. 10). In the corresponding road fixture against the Cougars, Nivar served a career-best six aces (Sept. 9).

For her career, Nivar totaled 136 points, 75 kills, 36 aces, and 160 digs. Always motivating the team on the court, Nivar was selected to the 2022 CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Sportsmanship Team and claimed the York College Women’s Volleyball Coaches Award in both the 2022 and 2023 campaigns.

Before enrolling at York, Nivar graduated from Frederick Douglass Academy.
