Zia Lefebvre was honored Monday as the CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for matches played Sept. 8-14. This is the outside hitter's first career CUNYAC weekly laurel, and the program's first since
Maritza Ortega Ramirez last October.
In four contests last week, Lefebvre totaled a team-best 47 points (37 kills and 10 aces) and 47 digs. Starting off the week with a four-set triumph against Medgar Evers College (Sept. 9), the freshman spiked down 11 kills, served three aces, and scooped up 16 digs. She had her second double-double of the season against the University of Valley Forge (Sept. 13), producing a career-best 15 kills on 41 swings (.220%) and contributing 15 digs. Lefebvre capped off her display with a career-high six aces in a three-set victory over Rosemont College (Sept. 13).
Amongst CUNYAC competitors, Lefebvre ranks third in points per set (3.24, 3rd), kills per set (2.47, 3rd), and digs per set (3.94, 3rd).
