www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's basketball wrapped up a two-game home stretch Friday with a CUNYAC matchup, outscoring the visiting Lehman College Lightning (13–9, 8–3 CUNYAC) over the final 13 minutes but were unable to overcome an early deficit in a 76–40 setback at York College Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- Lehman jumped out to a fast start, building a 16-point advantage before Chamiya Foy put York on the scoreboard with a second-chance jumper at the 3:48 mark of the first quarter.
- The Lightning capitalized on their opportunities throughout the opening 10 minutes, taking 13 more shots than York and scoring 21 points off 14 turnovers to carry a 23-point lead into the second stanza.
- Beautifull Earth opened York's second-quarter scoring, knocking down a three-pointer off a feed from Ceana Adams with 6:32 left.
- York continued to chip away at the deficit as Amaniya Aiken converted a jumper during a 5–0 spurt, and 1:19 later drained back-to-back triples in a 19-second span to fuel an extended 13–4 scoring run.
- Trailing 44-15 at intermission, Tyla Hooks netted a free throw to get York going 1:44 into the second half, and Aiken added five points as part of a 9–6 scoring edge to close out the final 2:56 of the third period.
After Lehman scored seven straight points to open the fourth quarter, York responded behind Aiken, who poured in nine points to key a 13–2 run.
- Earth closed out the scoring on a jumper with 30 seconds remaining, as York held a 15–13 scoring advantage in the final period.
Leading the Cardinals
- Aiken led York with a game-high 22 points and added two steals. Earth contributed 11 points, five rebounds (three offensive) and four steals.
- Hooks dished out a career-high five assists and posted 10 rebounds and added five assists, one block and a steal to her stat line.
- Foy grabbed nine rebounds (five offensive) and added two steals, and Ceana Adams pulled down eight boards.
For Lehman
- Heaven Figueroa paced the Lightning with 19 points (7-of-15 FG, 5-of-9 3FG), adding nine steals and five assists.
- Sage Fanelli tallied 17 points and six assists, while Emily Kennedy added 11 points (5-of-8 FG), eight rebounds (four offensive) and six steals.
- Musharafa Muniru grabbed a game-leading 15 rebounds (seven offensive).

York connected on 27 percent (17-of-63) from the field, 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from three-point range, and 33.3 percent (1-of-3) from the free-throw line. Lehman shot 37.5 percent (30-of-80) from the field, 23.5 percent (8-of-34) from beyond the arc, and 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from the charity stripe. The Lightning controlled the boards, 54–45, scoring 19 second-chance points off 21 offensive rebounds. Both teams drew even in blocks (1-1), while Lehman held the advantage in steals (21–9) and assists (23–9), and scored 37 points off 29 York turnovers.
