www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's basketball opened a two-game CUNYAC homestand on Tuesday, falling 80–39 to the Hunter College Hawks (15–6, 8–2 CUNYAC) inside York College Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- The Cardinals struck first as Aminiya Aiken knocked down a three-pointer just 47 seconds into the contest.
- The teams traded baskets in the early minutes before York scored six of the game's 10 points during a key stretch.
- Beautifull Earth added four points in the run to pull the Cardinals within three (12–9) with 2:17 remaining in the first quarter.
- Hunter answered late with four-straight points to close the opening stanza holding a 16–9 advantage.
- The Hawks carried that momentum into the second quarter, grabbing a nine-point scoring edge over the 10-minute period.
- A 6–0 spurt midway through the quarter pushed the Hawks' lead to 14 (24–10) with 5:48 remaining before halftime.

- Makkedah Murray contributed 13 points, while Kennedy DeRuy added 10 points and seven rebounds.
- Mia Fuller directed the Hawks' offense with a game-high eight assists.

York shot 20.3 percent (13-of-64) from the field, 25 percent (2-of-8) from three-point territory and 47.8 percent (11-of-23) from the free-throw line. Hunter landed 36.4 percent (32-of-88) from the floor, 11.1 percent (3-of-27) from long distance and 81.3 percent (13-of-16) from the stripe. York held a slight edge in blocks, 3–2, but Hunter dominated the boards, 69–39, converting 31 offensive rebounds into 19 second-chance points. The Hawks also capitalized on 29 Cardinal turnovers, turning them into 35 points, while controlling the assists (23–2) and steals (16–13) categories.
