www.YORKATHLETICS.com)Â York College men's and women's swimming opened their home slate Monday evening with a CUNYAC battle versus the Baruch College Bearcats (M: 5-1, 1-0 CUNYAC / W: 4-3, 2-0 CUNYAC). The Cardinal men dropped a 94-32 decision, while the women fell 84-21 inside York College Natatorium.
How It Happened
- Individually, Wood-by Paulemont and Darien Davis both collected nine points. Paulemont finished first in the 100-meter backstroke (1:48.78), and Davis tallied a first-place outcome in the 100-meter breaststroke (2:24.62).
- In the 50-meter freestyle, Lukas Rivera touched the wall in fourth place (51.60, 2 points), and Tyrone Morris followed in fifth (58:51, 1 point).Â
- Competing in two relays, the quartet of Paulemont, Davis, Rivera, and Morris recorded 11 points in the 200-meter freestyle relay (1:48.14, 1st) and finished fourth in the 200-meter medley relay.Â
- On the women's side, Elizabeth Astudillo produced first-place finishes in the 100-meter freestyle (1:36.96, 9 points) and the 100-meter backstroke (2:29.38, 9 points) to go along with a third-place result in the 50-meter freestyle (39.77, 3 points). In total, the freshman generated a season-best 21 points.Â
