www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's volleyball team closed out Saturday's non-conference tri-match on a high note, delivering a commanding 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-18) sweep over host Rosemont College Ravens (0-4) inside the Hirsh Community Center. The win came after a competitive opening match against the University of Valley Forge Patriots (4-2), where the Cardinals battled to take a set before ultimately falling 3-1 (25-15, 25-14, 19-25, 25-20). The strong finish against the Ravens marked a solid step forward for York as they continue to build momentum early in the season.
Match 1:Valley Forge 3, York 1 (25-15, 25-14, 19-25, 25-20)
First Set Breakdown
- Level at two, Valley Forge went on a 6-0 burst to lead 8-2.
- A pair of aces from Simranjit Kaur keyed a 4-0 Cardinal response.
- Two kills from Unique Castillo capped off a 7-1 stretch for the Patriots to take a 15-7 advantage.
- York trimmed the deficit to three (16-13) following a 5-0 spurt.
- Taking control, Valley Forge claimed nine of the final 11 points to clinch a 25-15 scoreline.

- Three smackdowns from Zia Lefebvre facilitated a 6-4 opening for the Cardinals.
