Dawa Bhote made the 2024 CUNYAC Women's Tennis Preseason Player to Watch list, announced Tuesday by the league office.
Playing in six matches at the singles and doubles level in 2023, Bhote paired with
Lhakpa Sherpa to claim an 8-4 victory on the No. 2 doubles court against Lehman College (Sept. 27). Competing on the No. 5 singles court, she took a set off of Baruch College's Ellie Eidelzon in October. Her contributions spearheaded a 2023 York College Women's Tennis Newcomer of the Year Award. Academically, Bhote was selected to the CUNYAC Fall 2023 Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
According to the CUNYAC Preseason Coaches Poll, the Cardinals are touted to finish sixth.

Baruch College paced the voting with 25 points and five first-place votes, while the Cardinals received 5 points. York's five-match conference slate begins with a road meeting against Brooklyn College on September 17.
The 2024 CUNYAC Championship will take place on October 29 (semifinals) and October 31 (finals), with the league champion receiving an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
York finished the 2023 campaign with a 0-10 record, winning a pair of games against CUNYAC competitors Lehman College and John Jay College. Along with Bhote, returners

Maryam Khan, and others will help the Cardinals grow under third-year coaches
