FLUSHING, NY — (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College collected four men's outdoor track & field honors Monday when the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its 2024 All-Star awards. Glenver Stuart, Marvin Mondesir, and Michael Zhang were rewarded with All-Star status while Stuart was voted on the Sportsmanship Team. 

A consistent standout in the 400 and 800-meter events, Stuart earned his first career gold medal at the CUNYAC Championships, crossing the finish line in the 800-meter dash at a season-high time of 2:08.68. This result also ranks third in the conference hierarchy. Additionally, the senior helped the Cardinals to six points in the 4x400-meter relay (3:45.81, 3rd place) and finished a respectable ninth in the 400-meter dash. Besides his contributions through the campaign and in the conference finale, Stuart is a model representative for the Cardinals.

Regularly competing in the 100 and 200-meter sprints, Mondesir shined in the 100-meter dash at the Outdoor Championships. After setting a career-best 11.76 time in the preliminaries, Mondesir burst through in second place with an 11.77 result in the final event. His score in the preliminaries is good enough for sixth on the CUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field Performance List. Similar to Stuart, the Haitian native helped the Cardinals to six points in the 4x400-meter relay and finished ninth in the 200-meter dash.

Making his mark in the distance events, Zhang had a hat trick of top-10 CUNYAC finishes in the eight meets he participated in. His 19:14.17 time in the 5,000 meters was good for fourth, the 39:15.17 pace in the 10,000 meters landed him fifth, and a 5:00.57 result in the 1,500-meter run placed 10th on the CUNYAC Performance List. Despite not running season-high times, the rookie starred at the CUNYAC Outdoor Championships, picking up two medals and accumulating 14 points. He crossed the finish line in the 5,000-meter event at 20:02.82 (2nd, 8 points) and the 10,000-meter category at 40:06.44 (3rd, 6 points).
