BRONX, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's and women's swimming finalized their season Thursday evening with a tri-meet against the Lehman College Lightning and SUNY Maritime College Privateers from APEX Swimming Pool.  The Cardinal men dropped a 146-29 decision to the Lightning and the Privateers emerged with a 128-41 victory. Lehman claimed a 132-17 victory over York in the women's meet while the Privateers won 67-17.

Julia Wyman finalized a promising first campaign for the women with a pair of third-place results. Wyman cemented her name in York's record books in the 50-yard butterfly with a program-best 31.88.  The 50-yard mark was previously held by Averie Mohammed, who swam a 32.63 against Mount Saint Mary College on November 3, 2009.  Wyman also notched a season-best time in the 100-yard IM at 1:19.38. She then grabbed the wall in 2:56.32 in a 200-yard butterfly time trial.

Richard Reyes led the way for York with a season-best time in the 200-yard freestyle event (2:20.80), good enough for a third-place result. Debuting in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard IM, Reyes clocked in fourth (28.05) and fifth (1:18.21) positions respectively.

Wood-by Paulemont earned top-3 finishes in the 50-yard backstroke (52.46, 3rd) and the 100-yard backstroke (2:04.84, 2nd). Swimming the 50-yard freestyle event, Paulemont touched the wall 3.14 later (38.74) than his season-high 35.6 time in the CUNYAC Championships. 

Competing in the 50-yard butterfly for the first time this campaign, Jeremy Sapeg earned a fifth-place finish (47.32). Sapeg narrowly missed out on a season-best result in the 50-yard freestyle (34.5), clocking in (35.53). The Bronx native also claimed seventh position in the 100-yard freestyle (1:31.54).

The Cardinals return a promising core for both the men and women's programs and look to enhance their program under first-year head coach Gary Walunas.
