www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's volleyball concluded their home schedule Tuesday evening with a matchup against the City College of New York Beavers (4-12, 4-3 CUNYAC), falling in straight sets (25-17, 25-21, 25-16) from York College Gymnasium.

Jachimma Onwuamaegbu (2023-24),
Jasmine Vega (2023-24), and
Maria Ventura (2024) were recognized for their dedication to York College with the annual Senior Day Ceremony.

First Set Breakdown
- A service ace by York's Simranjit Kaur helped knot the score at four.
- CCNY went on a 7-2 burst to lead 11-6.
- Trailing 17-10, the Cardinals followed with three consecutive points to put pressure on the Beavers at 17-13.
- Another 7-2 spurt from CCNY put the score at 24-15 before a Jeana Clemons service error finalized a 25-17 scoreline.
Second Set Breakdown
- With both teams level at four, a pair of kills from CCNY's Bianka Catral guided a 10-5 edge.
- York got back into the stanza at 12-10 helped by a Jasmine Dias kill.
- Two smackdowns from Ivanna Zamora Sanchez sparked a 4-0 run to go up 16-10.
- The Cardinals responded with five unanswered points, trimming the deficit to one (16-15).
- Changing the tide of the set, Catral's serve fueled a 6-0 burst to take a seven-point advantage (22-15).
- York got within three (24-21) before Kaur's serve at 24-21 landed out of play.
Third Set Breakdown
- Maritza Ortega Ramirez's powerful serve got the Cardinals off to a 4-0 start.
- Clawing back, an ace by Maria Popova capped off a 9-2 blitz for the Beavers to lead 9-6.
- Onwuamaegbu's kill for York made it a one-point margin (10-9).
- Behind 14-10, Ortega Ramirez served a couple of aces to get the Cardinals back within one (14-13).
- Breaking away, CCNY utilized an 8-0 spurt to take a nine-point edge (22-13), before Zamora Sanchez served out the Cardinals at 25-16.
Leading the Cardinals
- Ortega Ramirez showed out with a team-leading five aces to go along with a career-best 16 kills.
- Gumbs added three aces.
- Onwuamaegbu totaled two kills and a block.
- Samantha Panameno produced a team-best four assists and Dias chipped in defensively with 12 digs.
For CCNY
- Catral starred for the Beavers with six kills and a match-high seven aces.
- Zamora Sanchez attacked the net with eight kills on 31 swings.
- Rosalynda Russo (18 digs), Viviana Alatorre (14 digs), and Michelle Fernandez (10 digs) controlled the defense with a combined 42 digs.
- Alatorre also orchestrated the offense with a match-best 16 assists.
Inside the Box Score
York hit -.191 on 89 attacks, while CCNY attacked at a -.019 clip on 104 swings. The Beavers also had the edge in points (39-21), kills (21-6), aces (16-12), assists (20-6), and digs (59-51).
