JAMAICA, NY --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's swimming closed out their home portion of their schedule Thursday (Jan. 18) with a trio of second-place finishes against the Lehman College Lightning (M: 5-3, 1-2 CUNYAC), before suffering an 80-22 CUNYAC decision inside York College Natatorium.
Prior to the start of the meet,
Jeremy Sapeg (2017-20, 2023-24) and
Alex Winter (2019-20, 2022-24) were recognized for their dedication to York College Athletics with the annual Senior Day Ceremony.
Richard Reyes set a season-best time in the 200-meter freestyle with a third-place result in 2:29.32. Reyes also added a second-place result in the 400-meter freestyle (6:02.13) and touched the wall third in the 100-meter freestyle (1:10.72).
Sapeg scored season-highs in the 50-meter freestyle (39.67, 3rd) and 100-meter freestyle (1:47.08, 5th), while clocking in at 3:15.41 to take third place in the 100-meter backstroke.
Debuting in the 100-meter backstroke event,
Wood-by Paulemont impressed with a second-place finish (2:36.32). In addition, the freshman recorded a career-best result in the 50-meter freestyle (49.53) and 100-meter freestyle (1:57.17) races.
