FLUSHING, NY -- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's cross country star Glenver Stuart was recognized Tuesday by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) as the league announced its year-end awards.

A native of Jamaica, New York, Stuart was a shining light for the Cardinals in 2023, recording five top-two finishes for the Cardinals. Running in his third CUNYAC cross country championship, he set a personal-record time of 34:42.5, good for 27th place on the 8k course and first on the team.

"Glenver has succeeded in embodying that respect is paramount in sport. He performs with great respect, and it cannot be overlooked that he is respected because of the goodness of his heart as well. That respect is not only shown by his fellow teammates, but also by the peers in the athletic conference. He exemplifies selfless dedication to the team and unwavering respect and love for the sport. Glenver has contributed immensely to this team and his purity for his team and the sport show that he is a top sportsman."-stated coach Jovie Frederick

This honor becomes Stuart's second consecutive cross country Sportsmanship Team distinction and the program's fifth in as many seasons.
