York College travels Monday (Oct. 16) for a non-conference tilt at Brooklyn College

BROOKLYN --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com)  York College women's soccer continued CUNYAC play Saturday afternoon, falling to the John Jay College Bloodhounds (5-5, 2-1 CUNYAC) by the final count of 8-0 in a home showdown from Aviator Field.

First-Half Breakdown
  • Threatening early on, John Jay broke the deadlock at the 18:30 mark with a goal from Catarina Johnson.
  • Emma Fischer made it 2-0 almost two minutes later after a forceful right boot into the bottom corner.
  • Zoe Specht gave the Bloodhounds a 3-0 advantage after her longshot found the top right corner. In the 35th minute,
  • Morgan DeGlopper extended the lead to 4-0. Jerlynn Castillo tacked on another goal 90 seconds later.
  • Tarah Kennedy made it 6-0 John Jay with over three minutes left in the period.
Second-Half Breakdown
  • Attacking the goal relentlessly in the first 15 minutes, DeGlopper got her brace at the 63:38 mark to extend the advantage to 7-0.
  • Searching for an eighth goal, Cardinal netminder Naomi Alejandra Rodriguez swatted away shot after shot before Nora O'Connor settled the 8-0 result in the 76th minute.
  • In total, there were seven different goal scorers for the Bloodhounds.

Rodriguez (0-3-0) made a career-high 17 stops to notch the program's highest saves total since Stephanie Gutierrez turned away 17 shots against Brooklyn College on October 19, 2021.
