FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) announced its award winners Thursday for the 2021-22 men's indoor track and field season as York College produced four All-Stars and one Sportsmanship Team honoree.

Following standout performances at the 2021-22 CUNYAC Championships inside New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory, Andrew George, Hakeem Griffiths, Ryan Lahens and Shevon Walker all garnered All-Star status.  The quartet ran the 4x400 race in 3:43.45 to collect second place.  

Hailing from St. Andrews, Jamaica, Walker cemented All-Star laurels for the third-straight year after producing 28 of York's 64 points at the CUNYAC Championships.  After placing second at the 2020 CUNYAC Championships in the 60-meter dash, Walker followed by crossing the finish line first in 7.11 to claim the 2022 title.  Walker then became a two-time champion in the 200-meter dash with a winning time of 23.01.  He finished the season first on the CUNYAC Indoor Performance List in the 60-meter dash (7.09) and ranked second in the 200-meter dash (23.01), third in the 400-meter dash (52.76) and second in the 4x400 relay (3:43.45). 

Griffiths, a two-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week selection, tallied 24 points at the CUNYAC Championships.  The Brooklyn native leaped a distance of 12.23 meters to win the triple jump championship, and also placed third in the long jump with an effort of 5.92 meters.  Griffiths led the CUNYAC in the triple jump (12.64m), and is rated on the CUNYAC Indoor Performance List by ranking second in the 4x400 relay (3:43.45), fourth in the long jump (5.92m), 10th in shot put (7.59m), 15th in the 200-meter dash (25.46) and 18th in the 60-meter dash (7.87).

Lahens, a product of Brooklyn, contributed 18 points at the CUNYAC Championships, finishing third in the 200-meter dash in 23.35, and placing fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.37).  He concluded the season among the top CUNYAC performers by ranking second in the 4x400 relay (3:43.45), fourth in the 200-meter dash (23.35) and sixth in the 60-meter dash (7.37).

George, a resident of Brooklyn, medaled in the 400-meter dash by clocking in at 54.04 to finish third.  He is ranked on CUNYAC Indoor Performance List by finishing the season fourth in the 400-meter dash (54.04) and 12th in the 800-meter (2:22.98).
