www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's basketball rebounded from a slow start to play with a double-digit lead for the final 17:16 to win their third-straight home game Wednesday evening with a 68-50 triumph over the City College of New York Beavers (6-15, 2-10 CUNYAC) inside York College Gymnasium. The victory extended York's win streak to four games against CCNY.
How it Happened
- CCNY held a slight edge in the opening minutes, leading by as many as four points in the early going.
- York took control of the game with a 13-2 spurt capped by five-straight points from Quran Dublin to push the Cardinals in front 21-14 with 8:55 left in the half.
- CCNY then scored nine of the game's next 12 points to pull within one (34-23) 2:58 later.
- York outscored CCNY 11-2 in the final 3:57 to close out the stanza with a 35-25 advantage.
- CCNY broke the second-half scoring ice to trim the deficit to eight (35-27) 37 seconds in.
- The Cardinals answered with a 12-2 run as Mambe Koureissi scored seven points to make it an 18-point game (47-29) with 13:50 remaining.
- Moments later, Donald Hartley Jr. sank back-to-back three-pointers to extend York's lead to a game-high 24 points (63-39) with 6:42 showing on the clock.

Dublin led all scorers with 17 points (7-of-15 FG, 3-of-6 3FG), and added nine assists and eight rebounds to the win. Koureissi secured his fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 15 points (7-of-9 FG) and 10 rebounds. Hartely Jr. followed with 11 points (3-of-5 3FG) while
Guillermo Hernandez registered 14 rebounds and eight points.
Devine Chisholm handed out five assists and
Matthew Smiley blocked two shots.
For the Beavers, Daniel Piszczatowski contributed 10 points and five rebounds. Amir Assani pitched in nine points, seven rebounds, one block and one steal.
York connected on 47.6 percent (30-of-63) from the field, 40 percent (6-of-15) from outside the arc and 40 percent (2-of-5) from the free-throw line while CCNY shot 29.7 percent (22-of-74) from the floor, 19 percent (4-of-21) from three-point range and 50 percent (2-of-4) on from the charity stripe. The Cardinals dominated the glass, 53-34, scoring 13 second-chance points off 11 offensive rebounds. York also outplayed CCNY in assists (18-14) and points in the paint (36-20). The Beavers edged York in blocks (5-2), steals (8-1) and scored nine points off 19 York turnovers.
