www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's swimming made their return to the pool Monday evening for the first time since the 2020 CUNYAC Championships. Under first year head coach
Faith Latella Cardinals, the Cardinals opened the 2022-23 season with a 122-42 non-conference setback to the Lehman College Lighting (2-2), and a 112-33 loss to the Purchase College Panthers (1-3) inside APEX Pool.
Alex Winter paced York with a second-place showing in the 50-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 31.94.
Ahmed Algendy followed in 57.46 to claim third-place points.
Winter was at it again in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 56.70 to take second place.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Winter secured his third, second-place finish by registered a time of 1:20.85 while
Christopher Mendez added third-place points in 2:01.52.
"All the swimmers and I agree it's great to be back in the water competing. The other coaches and officials shared the same sentiment. Let's just keep swimming!"-said head coach Faith Latella
