www.YORKATHLETICS.com)York College men's soccer fell to the John Jay College Bloodhounds (3-8-0, 2-0-0 CUNYAC) 4-0 from Field 83 in Randall's Island.
John Jay took the lead at 6:57 when defender Jonathan Granados headed home a corner from Kevin Luciano. The finish was Granados' first of the campaign. Responding to the early goal, York steadily grew into the match, recording four shots on goal in the stanza. Promising midfielder
Stanley Sanchez had two of York's four attempts on target.
Emre Sahin and
Jamar Johnson also tested Bloodhounds' goalkeeper Tyler Solis. As Solis made four saves, York's Ahmed nearly matched his performance, recording six first-half saves and a .833 save percentage.

The Bloodhounds reaffirmed their advantage less than four minutes into the second half, as Brayan Alvarez's free-kick crept inside the near post. John Jay effectively sealed the match at 52:58, as Lamarana Diallo rifled a rebound past Algendy. Justin Gharbin finished off the scoring with his goal in the 84th minute.
A competitive game in the first half, John Jay bested York in the full-time stats. The Bloodhounds owned advantages in shots (25-7), shots on target (12-4), and corners (10-3).
The Cardinals (1-4-0, 0-2-0 CUNYAC) remain on the road, facing the Lehman College Lightning (5-3-2, 3-0-0 CUNYAC) on Saturday (Oct. 8) at 1 p.m. from South Field.
