Devine Chisholm with his second-straight CUNYAC Player of the Week distinction, announced Monday by league officials for games played November 11-17.
Chisholm, a native of Brooklyn, is the program's first back-to-back CUNYAC Player of the Week honoree since Michael Woods, who generated five weekly honors during the 2013-14 season. The sophomore sensation averaged 20.5 points, 7.0 assists, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals while connecting on 51.6 percent from the field (16-of-31) and 44.4 percent from 3-point territory (4-of-9) in a 1-1 week for the Cardinals. Chisholm powered York at home to an 83-70 victory with 18 points (7-of-16 FG, 3-of-6 3FG), eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals to open the week against SUNY Maritime (Nov. 12). He followed with a season-high 23 points (9-of-15 FG) and three steals to go with seven assists and six rebounds in a 77-74 road-opening setback at Maine Maritime Academy (Nov. 16).
In three games played, Chisholm currently leads the CUNYAC in points (58), points per game (19.3), made field goals (23), minutes (112) and minutes per game (37.3) while ranking among the league leaders in field goal percentage (3rd, 52.3), assists (2nd, 18), assists per game (2nd, 6.0), steals (T-5th, 5), steals per game (T-11th, 1.7), rebounds (5th, 21) and rebounds per game (9th, 7.0).
Chisholm and the Cardinals (1-2) continue their five-game road trip Friday (Nov. 22) at 8 p.m. with a non-conference matchup against the Clarks Summit University Defenders (0-4) from Phelps Student Center in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania.
